All Star Performers and Broadway Hits Dance into Davenport!

Adler Theatre and Jam Theatricals announce

2008-2009 Broadway at the Adler Theatre Season

DAVENPORT
, IA. - From the Great White Way to the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame, the blockbusters will roll into Davenport for the 2008-2009 Broadway at the Adler Theatre season, highlighted by the Quad Cities premieres of MAMMA MIA! and MOVIN' OUT. Subscriptions are now on sale to the general public.

The 2008-2009 Broadway at the Adler Theatre Season includes:

MAMMA MIA!- Over 30 million people all around the world have fallen in love with the characters, the story and the music of MAMMA MIA! Writer Catherine Johnson's sunny, funny tale unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father brings 3 men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago. The story-telling magic of ABBA's timeless songs propels this enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship.

MOVIN' OUT- Five-time Grammy winner Billy Joel and legendary director/choreographer Twyla Tharp have joined forces to create the musical Time Magazine declares "The #1 show of the year!" MOVIN' OUT brings 24 Billy Joel classics to electrifying new life as it tells the story of five life-long friends over two turbulent decades. It all adds up to one unforgettable Broadway musical.

DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS
- Nothing is exactly what it seems in this hilarious musical comedy hit. Based on the popular 1988 MGM film, DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS centers on two con men living on the French Riviera who make a bet: the first one to swindle $50,000 from a young heiress triumphs, and the other must leave town. What follows are a series of schemes, masquerades and double-crosses that leave you guessing all night!

THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE- In this Tony-Award winning new musical comedy, six young people in the throes of puberty, learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser. The Wall Street Journal hailed SPELLING BEE as "perfect in every possible way - that rarity of rarities, a super-smart musical that is also a bona fide crowd pleaser." This tuneful, offbeat and heartwarming show offers audience members the opportunity (strictly voluntary) to become part of the action as on-stage spellers.

SWEENEY TODD-The Demon Barber of Fleet Street-
Experience, live on stage, the musical that inspired the Tim Burton and Johnny Depp movie.  When the infamous demon barber takes up with his crafty neighbor, Mrs. Lovett, the two embark on a delicious plot to slice their way through London's upper crust. Justice is served along with lush melody, audacious humor and hair-raising excitement. Don't miss this phenomenal production with full music and lyrics by multiple Tony-Award winner Stephen Sondheim.

THE RAT PACK IS BACK!-
This spirited tribute recreates one of the famous "Summit at the Sands" hotel shows, when the "Rat Pack" created a free-wheeling nightclub act starring Vegas' four favorite sons: Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Dean Martin and Joey Bishop. Written and produced by Sandy Hackett, son of comedian Buddy Hackett, THE RAT PACK IS BACK! features uncanny vocal recreations, unbridled humor, and a live big band that sends audiences straight back to the coolest time in history. Hits include "That's Amore," "Fly Me to the Moon," and many more. See why The Las Vegas Sun writes, "This is as close as anyone has come to capturing the feeling of the real thing."

RAIN- THE BEATLES EXPERIENCE-
In a show the Denver Post calls "the next best thing to seeing The Beatles," RAIN boasts a song list of nearly 200 Beatlemaniac favorites, ranging from "Yesterday" and "Hey Jude" to "Revolution" and "Come Together."  RAIN-THE BEATLES EXPERIENCE covers the Fab Four from their first Ed Sullivan Show appearance through the Abbey Road album.  For more than two decades, RAIN has distinguished itself by being faithful to The Beatles with the ultimate goal of delivering a perfect note-for-note live performance.

"This is a stunning season for Davenport," says Steve Traxler, President of Jam Theatricals. "With the Davenport premieres of MAMMA MIA! and MOVIN' OUT, with Broadway hits like DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, and SWEENEY TODD as well as exciting shows like THE RAT PACK IS BACK! and RAIN- THE BEATLES EXPERIENCE, this season in Davenport is a must-see."

This year's subscription offers the Five-Show Classic Series, which includes SWEENEY TODD, THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, MOVIN OUT, and THE RAT PACK IS BACK! The Six-Show Premiere Series is also offered, including all the shows of the Classic Series plus MAMMA MIA!  RAIN-THE BEATLES EXPERIENCE can be added to any series for an additional cost. Prices range from $145 to $300, depending on the series, performance, and seating choice.
